28 Aug 2020
We wish to advise that Homebush Public School will become non-operational this afternoon Friday 28 August 2020.
We request that parents and carers make arrangements to come and collect their children. The OOSH will also be non-operational during this time.
Staff will remain at the school while students are being collected. The school will follow normal pick up arrangements this afternoon to allow parents to collect their children.
The Department of Education has been advised by NSW Health that a staff member at Cubbyhouse Childcare has tested positive for COVID-19.
While we recognise this will be disruptive and inconvenient for many families, it is important that we follow NSW Health advice and take all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of further transmission to support our community.
The Department will work with NSW Health to complete the contact tracing process and will communicate directly with staff and parents.
All staff and students are asked to self-isolate while contact tracing occurs.
NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or if you develop any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 clinics .
Further advice will be provided across the weekend advising when the school will resume on-site learning.
Further information on COVID-19 is available on the NSW Health website. If you have any education-related questions please contact 1300 338 679.
The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times. As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
